Job Description
The Cytotechnologist will be responsible for maintaining expertise in the collection, processing, staining, and microscope interpretation of cytologic specimens. The role includes performing computer, clerical, safety, and quality improvement functions as defined in the laboratory policy and procedure manuals. The Cytotechnologist may also instruct new employees and other laboratory staff.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's of Science
- Licensure: Florida state license
- Certification: ASCP, Certified Cytotechnologist (CT)
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year; Certified Medical Technologist (MT) preferred
Special Skills
- Expertise in cytologic specimen handling and analysis
- Ability to perform clerical and quality improvement functions
- Instructional skills for training new staff

Certifications:
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- BLS - Basic Life Support
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (if applicable)
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure (if applicable)
- Other relevant certifications as specified
Background and History Checks:
- 7 Year Background Check
- Work History Verification (last 3 years)
- Education Verification (highest level)
Compliance Requirements
- Fingerprinting required for all employees and contractors providing direct care.
- AHCA clearance must be on file prior to start.
- 2 Professional References required within 2 years of start.
