Radiology Technician (Bone Density Tech)
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 21 weeks)
Shift: 07:30 AM – 06:30 PM
Job Description
- Perform bone mineral density scans using specialized x-ray equipment at anatomical sites such as wrist, heel, spine, or hip.
- Prepare patients by explaining procedures, answering questions, and coordinating scheduling.
- Review scan findings to determine appropriate tests and recommend alternative scan sites if needed.
- Oversee lab operations including maintenance of densitometer, computer equipment, and patient records.
- Coordinate with pharmaceutical companies regarding protocols and recordkeeping.
- Ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of the laboratory and maintain stocks and supplies.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technician license in Massachusetts
- Minimum 1 year of Radiology Technician experience within the last year
- ARRT certification
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
