Occupational Therapist - Inpatient Rehabilitation

Location: Detroit, Michigan
Contract Length: Approximately 9 weeks (61 days)
Shift Options:

  • 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, 4 ten-hour shifts Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday
  • 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, 4 ten-hour shifts Sunday through Wednesday

Job Summary

  • Evaluate and treat patients with physical, emotional, cognitive, and/or psychosocial deficits in an inpatient rehabilitation setting.
  • Assess patients' ability to safely and effectively perform independent living skills.
  • Design, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans using appropriate modalities.
  • Document patient progress and seek consultation as needed.
  • Educate patients and their families/caregivers about deficits and therapy goals.
  • Assist with discharge planning, including recommendations for adaptive equipment and support programs.
  • Supervise certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians in accordance with regulations and practice standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Occupational Therapist license in Michigan
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience in a rehabilitation setting

Additional Information

  • Occupational therapy services become billable after 48 hours worked per week.
  • Candidates should specify preferred schedule option when applying.
