Radiology Technologist
Location: Lafayette, Colorado
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 36
Job Summary
Perform radiographic procedures to obtain diagnostic images according to physician specifications. Responsibilities include patient transfer, operation of X-ray imaging equipment, patient positioning and immobilization, and assisting with X-ray examinations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic X-ray procedures and operate all related imaging equipment.
- Educate, position, and immobilize patients appropriately for imaging.
- Coordinate examinations to ensure timeliness, quality, and continuity of care.
- Follow provider imaging orders accurately.
- Submit images and clinical information to Radiologists for interpretation.
- Evaluate image quality and maintain radiation safety measures (ALARA).
- Practice sterile technique and adhere to infection prevention policies.
- Prepare and administer contrast agents per Radiologist protocol.
- Communicate effectively with patients, coworkers, Radiologists, and leadership.
- Manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Supervise and evaluate Student Radiographers in clinical settings.
- Utilize and maintain department supplies appropriately.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of Radiology Technologist experience within the last year.
- Registration with The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- CT certification.
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Experience in supervisory roles.
Skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective and diplomatic communication within a multi-functional team.
- Ability to multitask and function successfully in a service-oriented, fast-paced environment.
- Proficient with computers, including Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to learn relevant applications.
Additional Information
- Weekend work required (Fri, Sat, Sun).
- Radiation safety and infection prevention are critical components of the role.
No prior travel experience required.
