Angiographer Position - Utah
Job Summary
- Ensure proper patient identification and order verification.
- Prepare patients for exams using appropriate body mechanics.
- Identify proper exams based on patient needs and utilize correct exam techniques.
- Produce quality images through correct operation of imaging equipment.
- Complete all required documentation accurately, including time stamps and image storage.
- Maintain work area and stock necessary supplies.
- Transport patients as needed.
- Develop knowledge of invasive, diagnostic, and interventional supplies, including indications, applications, and proper use.
- Apply closure devices, suture, or remove sheaths and apply pressure to obtain hemostasis at procedure end.
- Understand and apply principles of x-ray generation and safety.
- Provide patient education and assure patient comfort.
- Assist procedurally as circulating tech, scrub tech, or monitoring tech according to lab policies and scope of practice.
Work Schedule
- 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each, days may vary.
- On-call required, including weekends (on-call only).
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Cath Lab Radiology Technologist, Interventional Radiology Technologist, or in vascular/interventional radiography, with experience within the last year.
- Certification required: ARRT, ARRT (R)(RT), or ARRT (R)(VI).
- Vascular/Interventional Radiography Certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to see and read information, labels, and assess patient needs.
- Frequent verbal communication with patients, care providers, and visitors, including during emergencies.
- Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment precisely.
- Frequent computer use for documentation and information access.
- Ability to lift and transfer patients, bend, retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment, including heavy items.
- Ability to walk and assist with patient transport and equipment movement in crowded, busy rooms.
- May be required to stand stationary for extended periods.
Skills Set
- Experience with stroke, embolization, biopsy, and complex interventional radiology procedures.
Note: Contract length is approximately 19 weeks.
