Job Opportunity: Physical Therapy Assistant - Inpatient Rehab

Location: Ste Genevieve, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work setting includes outpatient and inpatient care (Swing Bed, Inpatient, Observation, Extended Recovery).
• Schedule: 32 hours per week, typically 4 shifts of 8 hours each.
• Weekend Requirement: 1 Saturday per month with coverage needed on specific dates; when working a weekend, a weekday off is provided (arranged with Therapy Director).
• Floating: May be required to assist with phone coverage, clean beds in One Day Surgery, or help patients to vehicles if census is low.
• Locals accepted.
• First-time travelers are accepted.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in Missouri
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant
• Physical Therapy Assistant experience within the last year

Additional Requirements

• Proof of identity and eligibility to work (I9, government-issued photo ID).
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history and federal exclusions.
• Drug screening (9 or 10 panel including marijuana) within the last 12 months.
• Physical exam within 1 year confirming ability to meet physical demands of the position.
• Fit mask test (N95) within 12 months, updated annually.
• Immunizations or titers required within 12 months or documented vaccine series for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or documented declination required during flu season.
• COVID-19 vaccination preferred but not required; medical or religious exemptions require facility approval.
• Completion of competency exams and orientation safety manual acknowledgment.
• Proof of 2 clinical references.
• Completed employment application/resume.

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not required.
• Floating duties may include non-PTA tasks during low census periods.
• Weekend coverage schedule is flexible and coordinated with management.
